Jan Egeland Wises Up

Will other looney lefty Bush haters so quick to condemn the US relief efforts do likewise? Some of the most ascinine criticism I have heard to date is that flippantly discounting the value of the US sending military assets to assist with the relief efforts. At least Jan Egeland shows he isn't a complete cluetard:

Militaries from several countries, including the United States, Indonesia and Japan, have pitched in, because they have the equipment and training to operate in isolated areas.

U.S. military helicopter drops over the weekend from offshore aircraft carriers brought the first deliveries of assistance to some groups of refugees on the west coast. Between 10,000 and 12,000 U.S. military personnel are involved in the operation now, Powell said.

"The U.S. military assets are really worth their weight in gold," Egeland said.

That Egeland is a typical European. Looks down his nose at us until his feet are held to the fire, then becomes obsequious and fawning, spineless when he sees that his blooper is coming back to bite him in the behind. Too late, Jan. We all heard what he said. He should still be fired or forced to resign. The U.N. is supposed to be populated by people with diplomatic skills and discretion, in which Jan is sadly deficient.
