Tom: The fact that they stopped looking for the WMDs doesn't mean they weren't there. It means Saddam was successful at disposing of them before the invasion. Everyone knows he had WMD. Don't you remember the Kurds and Iranians he gassed?

Saddam was hard-fisted - with massive US help, in 'diciplining' a country torn between ethnic and religous devides. Many observers say that there will not be an Iraq without the strong will of the quasi-socialistic, - totally corrupt, anti religous and relatively ethnic unbiased Baath party. The Iraqi nation will just fall apart. Which is what we see in front of our eyes now.

Had president Bush stuck to international law 'this would never have had to happen'. Some 1400 American lives and slightly less than a 100.000 Iraqi lives would have been saved. The US trade deficit smaller and the dollar stronger. No little thing
