Bush on O'Reilly

Did you see Part 1 of the interview? Parts 2 and 3 air tonight and tomorrow night. What do you notice? I am sure Bush haters took nothing more from it than how much they can't stand that goofy facial expression that they call a smirk - the one he has as he listens to a question. Imagine that, listending to a question thoughtfully so one can answer it. I honestly believe that that is one of the reasons BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome) sufferers hate him. It is typical of their criticisms, which are all style and no substance.

What I was impressed with was the obvious convictions he has. Agree or disagree, he knows what he believes and that is why he can articulate it with confidence. Unlike Kerry, who is still searching for a message that will resonate with voters and has to try to formulate answers that aren't further examples of him flip flopping. That says about everything you need to know right now - Kerry is saying stuff that he hopes will get him elected instead of speaking from conviction. That leads to his plodding, verbose, incomprehensible style of speaking. Kerry keeps getting compared to Dukakis, but one thing different about Dukakis was that he stuck to what he believed, regardless of the popularity of his positions.
