Now Bush haters are bitching that Bush is getting too involved and is undermining the UN. Funny, I thought the UN was doing a pretty good job of undermining the UN, what with the Blood for Palaces Scandal, er Oil for Food Program. Update: Clare Short is a stupid tool. See here for a report on what the UN vs. the US is or isn't capable of doing. By infidel cowboy · 12.31.04 12:26AM · Link · Comments (0) ·
Talking Points Purveyors for the Islamofascists
Really, why does bin Laden need to keep putting out tapes? In the span of a couple of days, the Bush haters have already labeled our response to the tsunami as stingy and say the president has ruined a chance to show Muslims that we are good people. Bin Laden couldn't have come up with better propaganda himself than that of these American America haters. Don't bother with facts that show that we are the biggest donors in the world in terms of actual dollars and near the top per captia when all factors are considered. Forget that anyone with half a brain could figure out that Al Queda didn't fly those planes into the WTC because they knew there was going to be a tsunami and that Bush would be on "vacation" and not address the media quickly enough for Bush hater's taste and then follow up with a measly offer of $35 million dollars and 12 Navy vessels and crew. Don't mention that the leader of the whiners favorite body, Kofi Annan of the UN, took even longer to address the media than Bush, and that when he did address the media he said the same thing as Bush - that he doesn't need to be at his desk to be working. Also don't bother pointing out that his comments directly contradict Jan Egeland and the America haters when he says that he is satisfied with the world response, including that of the US, to date. You see, it important to Bush haters to make him look bad at any cost, including that of the image of America, even if by distortion, falsehood, and demagoguery. Jan Egeland, Go To Hell
Stingy? Fuck you. How much has Norway donated to anything? The US is by far the biggest donor nation for all causes and is again in the disaster relief effort following the Indian Ocean tsunami disaster. And that is just official governmental aid. More effective private aid, since it goes straight to victims instead of through corrupt regimes, easily doubles the amount. For example, Donors at Amazon.com have already donated more than the French government. And to think, a lot of this going to countries full of people that hate us (notice the guy with the Osama t-shirt?) and our allies. Yes, Americans sure are a stingy, heartless lot, especially compared to those do gooders behind the oil for palaces scandal. Norway can brag about giving 1% of its economy, but when the government taxes at confiscatory rates, that seems pretty paltry and I would guarantee that private donations from Norway are nowhere near what has been given by private US donors, Probably not even as much as has been donated through Amazon alone. See, the asshat Jan Egeland doesn't seem to understand that money not confiscated by the government allows holders of that money to decide what to do with it. Those holding it who wish to contribute to disaster relief don't need to pay higher taxes to do so - they can more effective help through direct, private donations. PS - infidel cowboy has donated $100 to savethechildren.org for this disaster relief effort. I challenge anyone reading this to give what they can. Update: Others who should go straight to hell - anyone politicizing this. You know who you are. By infidel cowboy · 12.29.04 09:18PM · Link · Comments (21) ·
Malevolent, Mad, or Dead?
Voltaire asked the question in the 18th century - what kind of god could allow something like this to happen. Voltaire question why Lisbon, but the question he was really asking is why anywhere. Various perspectives can be found here.
